Are ethics important to designers? What values do our digital services promote?
There is a growing public awareness on how digital designs affect our lives – and increasing criticism over addictive designs. At the same time, the demand for designs that promote and drive meaningful causes constantly increases. As professionals working with design and shaping the future, we must be aware on how our craft affects the users – and the society broadly.
This topic is currently under-researched and ill-understood, so we need your help! Join us for an evening of interesting discussions, workshop and a mingle with fellow designers on the 9th of May at Gofore Kamppi office. In preparation for the evening, please take a moment to answer an anonymous questionnaire on the topic here. We will review the findings at the workshop! Deadline for this is 20.4.2018
Our workshop will have three parts. We will start by examining topical themes in design ethics, moving forward we will give voice to professionals working with design and review the questionnaire findings. Finally, we will work together on solving the key challenges identified in the results.
There will be food and drinks served at the event. After the official part of the event is finished, you are welcome to stay and have a drink on us 😊
17.00: Doors open
17.30: Kickoff and questionnaire findings
Address: Urho Kekkosen katu 7B 8th floor. Please ring the doorbell at street level and take the lift to 8th floor.
There are limited spots for 40 people for the workshop. If workshop gets filled up, you are welcome to join us from 20.00 o’clock onwards for a drink and mingle.

UXHel (formerly UXify) is Helsinki’s hands-on UX community, which promotes Helsinki’s design learning events, collaboratively organises meetup sessions to exchange skills and learn from one another, and to act as a platform for discussion around matters of UX Design and Research. Besides these meetups, ambition is to organise bigger yearly events, such as the UXHel Design Weekend and UXCamp, such as is already a reputable event Europe wide (e.g.: in Berlin, Copenhagen, Eindhoven, Amsterdam). The UXHel community relies on the dedication and ever-growing knowledge and inquisitiveness of its members and other volunteers to uphold a thriving and cutting-edge understanding of the field of UX and Problem Solving through Design. So please do join us to contribute to the growing UX talent throughout Helsinki as a whole. Visit our curated event page at: uxhel.com
See you there!
