Towards ethical and value based decisions at Entteri

Entteri wanted to raise internal discussions about their values, and how these values translate into their business. The will to act responsibly and based on values existed, but the shared definition and understanding remained unclear.

Entteri is a health information system provider that provides a cloud-based dental practice management software called AssisDent. The company is based in Finland and has aspirations to expand internationally.

“Our team shares a desire to have a positive impact on the world. Still, it’s effortless to bury ourselves with small daily tasks and forget about the bigger purpose.” – said Ville Tuominen, Entteri’s CEO.

Setting the stage for a more ethical and sustainable tomorrow

The project aim was to support decision making related to Entteri’s current business and people related needs. To do this, Gofore used the newly developed Good Growth business model to understand employees’ views on value-based decision making in the organization and their views on the company’s societal impact were they to expand internationally.

“Gofore’s experts had a well-thought approach to facilitate discussion on our broader societal impact. They were able to raise our awareness regarding the ethical implications of our everyday decisions.” – Tuominen continued.

Gofore’s Good Growth workshop was used to:

1) raise awareness about the impact of values and ethics on design and furthermore on society

2) reflect the organizations values and goals related to UN Sustainable Development goals.

These exercises gave material for concrete steps toward value based decision making. The workshop also built understanding on how the product could be used in new unknown market areas and even considered possible risks, such as whether it could be used to cause harm for some groups of people.

”Taking some time for discussions on positive growth is time well spent for purpose-driven organizations.” Tuominen concluded.

Raising awareness about the societal impact of Entteri’s business

In 2021 Gofore and Entteri partnered to understand how values and ethics could be a part of design and decision making in Entteri. The joint project both motivated the organization by raising awareness about the social impact of their products and services and helped to understand the staff’s and organization’s roles in the world of sustainability.

Gofore helped Entteri start the conversation on values and ethics through using the Gofore Good Growth offering. This included utilizing service design methods, an ethical design approach and the Good Growth lenses people, nature and business.
