As a procurement consultant you carry out ICT procurement projects for our public sector customers.
Our customer projects range from strategic planning of procurements to finalizing contracts and also include consulting related to other aspects of ICT procurements and contracts. Customers we have supported in procurement include for example the cities of Helsinki, Vantaa and Tampere, Kempower, Valio and Fintraffic.
Our customer projects typically include strategic planning of procurement, preliminary investigation, market research, planning and carrying out competitive tendering, and carrying out contract negotiations. Our procurement consultants also support our customers in other aspects such as developing the procurement function, contract management and vendor management.
Customer projects are often implemented by several of our procurement consultants. You don’t have to be an expert in all of the above-mentioned steps of the procurement project, as long as you identify entities within the steps that you have extensive expertise in.

What we expect from you
- You have extensive experience in public sector ICT procurement as a purchaser or as a representative of the customer
- You have comprehensive understanding of the public procurement law and other relevant regulation
- You have experience in carrying out extensive and significant procurement projects
- You are able to identify and analyze broad procurement needs
- You know how to help the customer in choosing the best procurement model and method
- You are able to take charge of the entire ICT procurement project and manage it all the way
- You have at least a basic understanding of ICT contract law
Thanks to your good interaction skills, you get along well with customers, project-related stakeholders and other Gofore consultants. You are independent, productive and customer centric in your working methods. You understand that high-quality outputs and end results that exceed the customer’s expectations are at the center of the success of an ICT procurement consultant. You purposefully strive towards a solution and dare to tackle problems. In addition, you have a passionate attitude to your work. Fluency in Finnish is needed due to the nature of our customer projects.
We consider it an advantage to have experience in project management and a lower or higher university degree. The person selected for the position may be subject to a personal security clearance by our customers.
Salary development
For us it is important that Goforeans receive reasonable total compensation for their work. The compensation is the outcome of, not only experience and skills, but also active work for our two values: being a good workplace for everyone and considering customer perspective in everything we do. The feedback that you receive, your utilisation rate (we are consultants, after all!) and your own professional development are central in the salary discussions with your People Leader (i.e. supervisor).
We have different salary models, and in addition to the monthly salary, we have separate bonuses linked with the company’s success. Bonuses can be related to, for example, recruitment, sales or actions advancing Gofore’s employer brand.
