We are looking for a flight software engineer to join our growing customer projects portfolio in the space domain. By joining us, you’ll have the opportunity to engage in diverse projects that push the boundaries across the entire space sector and make a real impact.
About Us
Our space team has provided software for many of Europe’s most ambitious space missions since 1989, including the Gravity field and steady-state Ocean Circulation Explorer (GOCE), which mapped Earth’s gravity with unprecedented precision; the Herschel Space Observatory, which studied the formation of stars and galaxies; and the Planck satellite, which made significant contributions to our understanding of the early universe by mapping the cosmic microwave background. More recently, we are providing platform software for PLATO mission, which aims to discover and characterize exoplanets and study stellar oscillations. Finally, since 2025 Gofore has begun contributing flight software to the LISA mission, a space observatory created to detect gravitational waves.
For its recent contributions to Sentinel-4 and Sentinel-5 missions, our Space team has been awarded with the prestigious Excellence Award as Subcontractor by the European Space Agency (ESA).

Your Role
You will work on a project that best suits your background and interests. Depending on your seniority level and project, the daily tasks may vary, but typically include software design, software development and/or testing using C/C++/Java/Pyhton/Ada, continuous integration using DevOps tools, preparing relevant documentation, supporting your colleagues, customers and our sales team.
Prerequisites

BSc, MSc or PhD degree in a suitable area supporting space related development work, e.g., physics, mathematics, computer science.

Experience in software development, preferably in a Linux environment.

Experience in space related activities is a plus but not mandatory, if the experience is relevant to space projects

Problem solving skills.

Good communication skills (including fluent English).

Ambitious attitude, ability to work in a team, and willingness to learn.

Salary
Typically, the salary range for this role is between €3900-€5000 per month, and we can determine the appropriate level together as discussions progress and we learn more about your skills. In addition to the monthly salary, we offer a reward system that includes an incentive based on jointly achieved results.
