Gofore awarded the Engineer Employer of The Year in Finland

Press release 12 September 2022

Gofore has been awarded the Engineer Employer of The Year by the Union of Professional Engineers in Finland. Gofore received the prize on 9th of September at Engineeer Gala, an event organized by the Union.

The prize was awarded to Gofore for its actions to create a positive and diverse working life and for being one of the first IT companies drafting and publishing its own collective agreement. Gofore is also praised for creating an innovative salary modell. Gofore’s collective agreement became effective in the beginning of 2022.

Gofore was founded in Tampere, and the company is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. Gofore has nearly 1,100 employees.

“We want to thank you for this recognition. It is great that our efforts for developing the working life is being noticed. This recognition goes to every Goforean. Our employees participate actively in developing our company and its culture. The handprint of our community can be seen on our collective agreement as well”, says Director of People Operations Sanna Hildén.

Gofore’s Collective Agreement is based on Gofore’s values – being a great workplace for everyone and thriving on customer success – which have guided the company for more than 20 years.

It is being structured so that it clearly explains the company’s aspirations as a community of professionals while also describing the procedures and goals as a business. It includes a salary modell that is based on the growth and profitability of the company. It is better in several ways than the national collective agreement, and includes benefits that already before have been agreed on locally in the company. For example regarding paternity pay, new fathers are entitled to their salary and benefits for a period of three weeks, which is three weeks more than on the national collective agreement.

”Values guide us in everything we do, and we want to pay attention to the wellbeing and working culture of our employees. A guiding principle of ur agreement is that it reflects our culture based on low management, cooperation and trust”, Hildén says.
