CSC — IT Centre Science Ltd. has signed a framework agreement with Gofore to continue as its primary provider in the design, development and maintenance of information production solutions for the public administration and national education system. The agreement covers two years from early February 2020 and is worth around EUR 2 million in total.
“We are delighted that our long-term, broad-based cooperation will continue and expand under the new agreement. In addition to development, we can offer strategic service design and information architecture expertise,” says Viljakaisa Aaltonen, Head of Design Service at Gofore.
“Gofore’s specialists have been a long-term source of expertise for CSC, enabling us to build services in cooperation with education providers and the public administration. Based on our good experiences, we are delighted to be continuing our cooperation,” says Stina Westman, Director, CSC.
Broad-based cooperation in digitalisation projects
CSC, Gofore and their subcontracting networks have previously engaged in close cooperation in the development and maintenance of higher education services, and in various large-scale development projects promoting the digitalisation of the education sector in particular.
“Impressive examples include the Service for Cross-Institutional Studies, a national key project commissioned by the Ministry of Education and Culture, which promotes teaching and learning cooperation between higher education institutions,” Aaltonen says.
“Gofore is also involved in developing the national data warehouse for early childhood education (Varda). Information on the locations, children and staff involved in early childhood education is gathered in Varda. This information can be used in municipal and national development activities and decision-making,” Aaltonen continues.
Aaltonen points out that Gofore has also been closely involved in a development project for the VA system (valtionavustusjärjestelmä) for making government transfers. The aim of the project is to increase the impact, efficiency and transparency of government transfers by developing a digitalised process covering the entire state administration, with a customer-driven integrated approach and information systems.”
“It’s great to be involved in supporting digitalisation in the public administration, and in education in particular,” Aaltonen concludes.
