Recruitment at Gofore

Want to know what happens after you hit “send” on your application to Gofore? You’re in the right place.

An application, a few conversations (yes, that’s what we call interviews) and eventually an employment contract. It’s a familiar and well-functioning model, but what matters to us most is what happens in between. For us, your application – or any first contact – is the start of a conversation where we get to know you, your skills, your professional story, and what motivates you.

How do I apply to Gofore?

You’ll always find the latest information about our open positions on our website. You can apply by submitting a role-specific application or by expressing your interest through an open application. For data privacy reasons, we can only accept applications submitted via the dedicated form on our Join the Crew page.

If you already know some Goforeans, feel free to reach out to them for more insights. Our people have wide professional networks, and we actively encourage them to recommend skilled individuals they know. Goforeans are enthusiastic referrers – for example, in 2025 more than a fifth of our new hires came through recommendations.

Our recruitment team reads every application and recommendation and works to match talent with the needs of our current customer projects. The team specialises in understanding the skills we need across the organisation, which means we always look at your skillset broadly, not only in relation to the role you applied for, unless you specifically choose to have your application assessed only for the position you applied for. This may occasionally lead to us asking whether you’d be interested in a slightly different role. If you’ve included a separate cover letter, it helps us learn even more about your strengths and experience. With your permission, we store your information in our system.

We aim to move quickly, but during busier periods our response times may be slightly longer. We appreciate your understanding. As new project opportunities arise, we may return to previously submitted applications and reach out to you later. And even if your application is already in our recruitment system, you’re always welcome to contact us again if your work situation changes or you become interested in another role.

What is the recruitment process like?

Our recruitment process typically includes three stages: 2–3 conversations and, for specific roles, a task related to your professional expertise. During a typical process, you’ll discuss with your potential People Leader, your recruiter, and a future senior colleague.

We want to get to know you — your skills, what motivates you, what supports your success, and how you want to grow professionally. At the same time, we want to give you a clear picture of Gofore: our customers, projects, the role you’re applying for, and what we expect from you.

What happens during the recruitment process?

First conversation

In the first conversation, you’ll usually meet your recruiter together with your future People Leader or a future colleague. You’ll get to know more about our projects, customers, culture, and ways of working. We may ask about your expectations, your skills, your successes in customer projects, and how you typically prepare for customer interviews.

We have offices in Finland and across Europe, and you’re welcome to visit your future home office. Conversations can take place either virtually or on-site, depending on what works best for everyone involved.

Second conversation

In the second conversation, we’ll focus together on your skills and the substance relevant to the role. Depending on the position, we may ask you to complete an assignment or simulation either beforehand or during the discussion. In many cases, you can choose the format that suits you best.

Our goal is to make the task a meaningful learning experience. Even if the process includes a task, the discussion is highly interactive. After this stage, once we have a deeper understanding of your goals and skill level, we proceed with matching you to a suitable project, provided your skills and attitude align with what we’re looking for.

Job offer

After the conversations, both you and we make our decisions, and we may move towards a job offer. Typically, before making the final offer, we aim to match you with a customer project first. This is called a conditional offer. It helps ensure a smooth start at Gofore and minimises any waiting time between signing and beginning your first project.

Once we reach the offer stage, we do our best to make the offer reflect your expertise and the expectations and responsibilities of the role. Our employee benefits, various bonus models, and our own collective agreement add significant value on top of your base compensation.

Once your employment contract has been signed electronically, your preboarding begins. This includes selecting your work equipment, such as your laptop, software, licences, phone and headphones, and learning more about Gofore before your first day.
