Gofore's change negotiations ended on 7 May 2025, and the outcome was communicated to the personnel today. As a result of the negotiations, Gofore will reduce its headcount by 80 people in administrative and expert roles. The employee reductions are expected to save the company approximately 6.4 million euros on an annual basis. Amount of people made redundant locally is 42 in Helsinki, 27 in Tampere, and a total of 11 people in other locations in Finland.
Gofore initiated the change negotiations on 14 April 2025, to adjust its service and expertise structure to align with the long-term decline in customer demand and to enhance operational efficiency. Employee representatives and leadership jointly decided to shorten the duration of the negotiations by more than two weeks.
A total of 830 employees in Finland were included in the negotiations, and Gofore estimated prior to the beginning of the process that the need for personnel reductions would be a maximum of 95 individuals in expert roles and administration.
“I thank the negotiators for being able to agree together on a more streamlined negotiation process and for conducting the negotiations in a good spirit and mutual understanding of the necessity for solutions. It was truly important that we were able to keep the period of uncertainty for Gofore employees as short as possible. Thanks also to the entire personnel for the resilience and open attitude towards discussion that our community has once again demonstrated,” says Gofore’s CEO Mikael Nylund.
“The negotiations were held in a good spirit and issues were examined from many perspectives. The negotiations were also very open, and there was an exceptionally high level of communication about their progress to the Gofore crew. The employer considered the views of the employee representatives, and it was a good decision to shorten the duration of uncertainty for the employees. Gofore also offers extensive change support to those being laid off,” says Gofore’s Chief Shop Steward Staffan Österholm.
“After the change negotiations, we will together focus on everyday customer work and the implementation of our strategy. Our ability to invest in the experts involved in customer work and to create exceptional customer value will strengthen with leaner administration and decreasing free capacity,” says Mikael Nylund.
The change strengthens Gofore’s competitiveness and enables growth in areas where customer demand is expected to remain strong. Specific areas of strong demand include services related to data and AI, as well as cybersecurity, architecture, ERP, project, and technology management services.
