KYYTI MAKES DAILY TRAVEL EASY
The world’s first Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) solution with on-demand ridesharing capabilities.
Kyyti integrates all mobility modes into one easy-to-use mobile application to make everyday mobility more efficient, convenient, and environmentally sustainable. Users are given the freedom to plan and locate routes, and schedule on-demand or recurring trips through the app.
Kyyti was introduced in major Finnish cities starting in March 2017 and quickly garnered tens of thousands of app downloads. Since early 2019, two mobile developer experts from Gofore have been involved with cross-platform mobile app development using React Native, assisting with adding features to Kyyti’s own application, as well as customisations for the white-label apps of some of their customers.

Kyyti’s scalable platform offers a myriad of digital solutions to facilitate easy door-to-door travel, including fleet management systems, integrated planning, business tools, and white-label apps such as Vamos Mobility, which offers transit options in San Joaquin and Stanislaus Counties in the USA.
Matkahuolto, a nationwide provider of passenger, parcel and carrier services in Finland, is among Kyyti’s white-label app customers, which includes:

Gofore’s trusted experts have been involved with transforming the mobile app to efficiently bridge the gap between goals of Kyyti and their customers.
There are cases where having everyone download an app to take advantage of a service is not the best user experience. One such example is a parent ordering a ride for their child to and from e.g. football practice. The parent handles finding the suitable ride, payment, and so on, but the child only needs the Trip view, which includes the information required to get on board the ride.
Gofore’s experts have helped in making this a reality, by implementing the trip view as a responsive website using React. To the end user it looks exactly the same as the app’s Trip view, but does not include the possibility to change or cancel the ride. The trip can thus also be shared to others who might be interested in when you are arriving.
With over 15% of mobile app users worldwide possessing some nature of disability, supporting accessibility is an essential component in developing applications inclusive of everyone.
Kyyti acknowledges the importance of this and, with the help of Gofore’s experts, has been able to significantly improve the support of accessibility in their apps providing MaaS solutions to a larger segment of the user base. This catering to people with various disabilities has been particularly helpful for Kyyti’s customers.
Added accessibility support included improved navigation and usability within the app, with screen readers enabled, better color contrast within the apps, keeping the customer’s wishes in mind as best as possible, supporting larger font sizes for visually impaired users, and including options for mobility when searching for a route within the app.
