Secure mobile app for laboratory results

In cooperation with Fimlab, Gofore’s subsidiary Huld’s software development experts developed a secure mobile application that enables customers to easily access laboratory results with strong authentication. In 2025, the application exceeded 100,000 users and has received praise from Fimlab’s customers especially for its clarity and ease of use.

Objective

A secure mobile application

Fimlab is Finland’s largest healthcare laboratory company owned by the wellbeing services counties. Fimlab provides laboratory services as well as education and research in the wellbeing services counties of Pirkanmaa, Kanta-Häme, Central Finland, Päijät-Häme and Ostrobothnia.

Fimlab’s goal is to provide its customers with smooth and clear digital services. In cooperation with Fimlab, Huld’s software experts developed a secure mobile application that enables customers to easily access laboratory results with strong authentication.

Solution

Secure identification, smooth user experience

Fimlab wanted to offer its customers an even more user-friendly way to receive laboratory results. Fimlab’s customer base is extensive, so it was important to take into account that the application is easy to use for everyone. Previously, the information provided via SMS did not allow for a detailed view of the results and result history.

Fimlab chose Huld as its mobile development partner, as our experts have extensive experience in the development of digital healthcare services. In addition, our software developers have a strong background in developing mobile applications for consumers.

We had no previous experience in consumer mobile applications, so it was important that our partner was able to support us from the design stage and offer their views and experiences on the best solutions. Developed with Huld, the Fimlab mobile app lets customers quickly and securely access laboratory results, while also improving our internal efficiency.

Fimlab app successfully launched

During the collaboration, Huld’s experts supported Fimlab also in UX/UI design and Agile development projects.

As a result of the cooperation, Fimlab mobile application was published in Google Play and App Store in June 2022. Fimlab’s customers have given feedback on the app’s clear user interface, which makes it easy for them to monitor laboratory results.
