The AI Governance Model
AI Governance Model supports transparent and sustainable AI development
The aim of the AI Governance Model is to create a shared target state for the use of artificial intelligence within the organisation, and to make the supporting guidelines available to everyone. It helps ensure information security, the efficient use of resources, and standardised operating practices.

What is AI Governance Model?
AI Governance Model guides the safe and cost-effective use and development of artificial intelligence within an organisation. It clarifies decision-making related to AI, outlines the risk management process throughout its lifecycle, and establishes structures for the oversight, governance, and monitoring of AI usage.
The design of an AI Governance Model is shaped by the organisation’s needs as well as external regulatory and operational factors. Key considerations include the organisation’s structure and practices, intended uses of AI, strategic objectives, applicable legislation, and the direction of technological development. Based on these, clear processes and guidelines are created to support the responsible and controlled use of AI in various contexts.
The governance model can also be built in accordance with the ISO/IEC 42001 standard and, if needed, certified accordingly.
Why to utilise AI Governance Model?
Adopting AI into practice is not only a technological change, but something that also requires new ways of working. Investments in AI only begin to pay off when it is integrated into everyday operations in line with established practices. Consistent approaches help avoid duplicated efforts, unclear responsibilities, and isolated experiments.
Managing generative AI, in particular, is complex and demands collaboration across multiple parties. A governance model clarifies roles and responsibilities and ensures smooth processes for acquiring, using, and developing AI. It helps guarantee that AI is utilised responsibly, safely, and ethically – while also supporting the continuous evolution of models in a changing operational environment.
