The EU Digital Identity Wallet will be introduced at the end of 2026. Now is the time to prepare for its arrival and obligations to ensure your organisation can immediately benefit from the new opportunities, competitive edge and enhanced customer experiences it brings.

What is the European Digital Identity Wallet (EUDI Wallet)?
The European Digital Identity Wallet (EUDI Wallet) is a tool designed for EU citizens, residents and legal entities, enabling secure electronic identification and reliable verification of personal information across the EU.
The wallet provides a safe way to manage and share personal data, as well as to use it in both public and private services. Users can store and exchange verified information maintained by authorities, such as their name, date of birth and nationality, along with trusted data from private sources.
Timeline:
- EU Member States must make the wallet available by December 2026, when the public sector will also be required to accept it as a means of identification.
- In certain sectors, the wallet must be accepted as a form of strong authentication by December 2027.
