Supporting customers as a partner and advisor in ERP projects

Gofore Crew

At Gofore, our ERP consultants play a key role in helping our customers digitalise their business processes and renew their enterprise resource planning systems. In my role as a Lead ERP Consultant and Enterprise Architect, I take a strong operations-driven approach.

I believe that real change happens when the customer’s own people are involved from the very beginning. Not all wisdom can be brought in from the outside; it’s essential to tap into the customer’s own expertise. When people get to participate, commitment and enthusiasm follow naturally. I consider my work successful when shared goals don’t remain as words on paper or slides, but turn into real action. This requires that plans are allowed to evolve and that people within the customer organisation are engaged and committed to putting them into practice in their daily work.

The best solutions arise from a holistic understanding and the ability to apply it

In my work, I use a wide range of methods and frameworks, but never in a mechanical way. What matters most is the ability to apply them appropriately to the situation and the customer’s operating environment, to listen carefully and to identify what the customer truly needs. Often a specific solution is requested, even though the real challenge lies elsewhere, for example, in ways of working. Only by understanding the bigger picture can we address the right issues and create genuine added value, or even a competitive advantage.

By nature, I’m a developer. I enjoy applying my expertise broadly and helping to create new ways of working. In my role, I often find myself joining projects that are already in motion and where goals continue to evolve. In these situations, it’s important to stay calm, focus on what really matters, and keep believing that success is possible, even when things don’t go exactly as planned.

Before joining Gofore, my career was in customer organisations where collaboration with consultants played a central role. This background helps me understand both perspectives well and know what customers value. Now, as a consultant myself, I aim to bring added value by actively sparring with customers, and sometimes constructively challenging them when I feel the direction needs refining. The best feedback is hearing that we’ve been able to bring in a fresh perspective and help move things forward in a difficult situation.

Partnership is reflected in both our customer work and our values

Alongside customer work, I also contribute to developing Gofore’s ERP business. Our goal is to strengthen our position as a business integrator, a partner that supports customers from the early stages of strategy and development, not just as a system implementer or provider. I’ve been involved in developing our service offering, sales materials, and internal operating models, as well as participating in recruitment and tender processes.

I’ve been at Gofore for over five years now, and I can genuinely say this is a workplace where the company’s values are truly reflected in everyday life. From the very beginning, Gofore’s belief that the success of customers and employees goes hand in hand has resonated with me. Here, you can be yourself, act according to your values, and achieve things together in a supportive atmosphere. There’s no unnecessary hierarchy; you can message anyone, and communication is open and straightforward.
