Your impact

Design and implementation of scalable architectures using Java (Spring Boot, Jakarta EE) and Node.js, tailored to specific project requirements.

Application of proven architectural patterns such as hexagonal, service-oriented, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and event-driven architectures to build robust, maintainable, and scalable systems.

Contribution to the strategic transformation of legacy systems towards container-based cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Kubernetes).

Development and operation of GitOps and CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, ArgoCD, or FluxCD to enable reliable and secure deployments.

Integration of modern technologies such as LLMs (e.g., OpenAI, Hugging Face via API) and knowledge graphs (e.g., Neo4J) into enterprise architectures.

Technical consulting and coaching for our clients on best practices, software quality, cloud strategies, and technology decisions.

Security is not an afterthought for you: you incorporate aspects like authentication, authorization, secrets management, and secure communication from the ground up.

You actively contribute to business success: as a technical lead, you not only bring your expertise to client projects, but also take responsibility for strategic decisions—from shaping proposals and defining team composition to risk assessment and pricing.
What we expect from you
-
You have over 10 years of experience in software architecture and development with Java (Spring, Jakarta EE) and Node.js.

You possess deep expertise in designing and operating cloud-native applications, preferably on AWS, and are well-versed in relevant cloud services and infrastructure concepts.

You are proficient in working with containers (Docker), Kubernetes, and service meshes (e.g., Istio), and have a solid understanding of GitOps and CI/CD processes.
-
You bring in-depth knowledge of architectural patterns, event-driven systems (e.g., Kafka), and the principles of scalability, security, and resilience in distributed systems.
-
You work confidently with modern tools and technologies such as Git, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Maven, Gradle, JUnit, JPA/Hibernate, other ORMs, Node.js, and pnpm – and also have experience in object-oriented modeling using, for example, UML or the C4 model.

You have extensive experience with both relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis), and strong expertise in using ORMs like Hibernate or TypeORM.

You possess deep knowledge of build tools such as Gradle and understand their use in complex multi-module projects.

You bring a strong product engineering mindset and always approach solutions from an application perspective – from the initial idea through architecture to operations.

You actively share your knowledge – through mentoring, architecture coaching, blog posts, tech talks, or LinkedIn activity.

Ideally, you hold relevant certifications such as iSAQB Advanced Level, Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, or SAFe® Architect.

You are fluent in German (C2) and English (C1).

Salary development
At Gofore, fair, transparent, and respectful compensation is a core part of our culture. Your annual gross salary is determined not only by your experience and skills but also by the value you contribute to our shared success. Our values – being a great workplace for everyone, genuine customer centricity, and continuous personal development – are deeply embedded in our compensation processes. These are shaped together with you in regular conversations with your People Leader.
For this position, your potential full-time salary is outlined as follows. The exact classification will be defined in a fair and transparent dialogue with you:

Austria: The minimum annual gross salary under the collective agreement is €63,000. Depending on your qualifications and experience, we offer a fixed salary between €63,000 and €76,800.

Germany: The salary range for the fixed annual gross salary is €76,200 to €88,800.
In addition to the fixed salary, you participate in Gofore’s financial success through our Flex Model. At 100% target achievement, you receive a bonus of 8% of your fixed salary – with above-average performance, up to 12% is possible.
This means that at 100% target achievement, the total salary range for this position shifts to:

Austria: €68,040 – €82,944

Germany: €82,296 – €95,904
