My DNA customer service app

What you need, when you need it.

DNA had the need to improve their customer service, especially for those people on the go and needing to access their own information regardless of time and space. When DNA decided to form a team for mobile application development Gofore was asked to come in and help. To define the ‘how and what’ a proof of concept (PoC) was developed to test and verify that the idea of creating the end user mobile app was in the right direction.

The need was clear, delivery of how and what was less so

When DNA decided to form a team for mobile application development Gofore was asked to come in and help. To define the ‘how and what’ a proof of concept (PoC) was developed to test and verify that the idea of creating the end user mobile app was in the right direction.

Technology and Design choices do matter

The PoC was architected by Juha Linnanen who heads up the Mobile Development in Gofore. Juha’s choice of technology was React Native, which allows for cross-platform code to be written that streamlines the development work. It was decided beforehand that PoC will be done with high quality, so the production version was able to be built on top of it without issues

The development was done by a team from Tieto, with project manager from Palmu, so multivendor effort was used, and both the schedule and budget were well kept.

What do the end-users think?

The proof in the pudding is not what the team thinks, but how well the end-users adopt the finished product. The fact that the app store rating in October 2019, 6 months after the launch, is 4,8/5 is a strong testament that the app was needed and is liked, and that is what should always kept in mind when any digitalization effort is made!
